Photography feature in On Landscape magazine

Some of my photographs have been featured in the On Landscape Subscribers 4x4 Portfolios section. The portfolio is called "Found Light in a Dark Time" and contains four photographs I found of the light in the Skye mountains while wandering around. You can view the photographs here.

New date for my exhibition. I've got together with artist Sally from The Art House for a joint exhibition of landscape photography, Gaelic poetry and paintings. With a theme of emerging into the light it will be a celebration of new life in the wild landscapes of the Isle of Skye and the highlands of Scotland.

New print run of The Little Book of Gaiku.

I'm expecting the new print run of The Little Book of Gaiku in the coming week and am taking orders on the book's page. Its popularity is encouraging and hopefully it shouldn't be too long before the next volume is at the printers.

The Little Book of Gaiku sold out!

I've just sold out of The Little Book of Gaiku but have new orders in the pipeline. Hopefully should have them by mid October 2019. It's proving a popular wee publication and I'm working on the second volume as well as a book of longer poems and more of my photographs.

New photography course review.

Over on my blog I review Bruce Percy's Advanced Photoshop Curves ebook and videos. The course has helped me understand the tonal relationships in my images and you can see the ongoing results of a Loch Coruisk trip on the Isle of Skye.

A chance remark in the Cairngorms and reading an essay on solitude lead to the creation of an article on why solitude matters to me when I'm in the landscape photographing and how it can bring honesty and integrity to one's images. You can read it on my blog.

I've decided to sell The Little Book of Gaiku direct from the website for a more personal service for customers, not to mention improved postage costs. I'll now be able to offer the book for £10 which includes postage. Now that I'm selling direct to customers I can offer a free dedication service. If you'd me to sign the book, either for yourself or for someone you're gifting the book to, you'll be able to let me know during the checkout process. This is a very exciting development for me, being able to bring the beauty of the Gaelic language and highland landscape to a wider audience, signed by the author. Launch of new Cuillin mountains gallery.

I'm excited to launch my new online gallery showcasing the Cuillin mountains on the Isle of Skye. These are my local mountains which I've been exploring extensively over the years with notebook, pencils and camera. I'm planning to publish a range of photographs showing how I see these wonderful mountains, the most rugged in Britain and all available for purchase from my fine art printers. New photograph in the Black and White gallery.

I've been working on a new photograph of the cooling tower at Torabhaig distillery on the Isle of Skye, telling the story of the "Angels' Breath". The image also marks the start of my new Black and White gallery which I'll be working on over the coming months. Exciting times indeed!

Prints of my rainbow photographs are now on sale in the Rainbows gallery. Ordering a print is as easy as viewing the image you like and clicking on the 'buy print' button located in the bottom of the image. You will then be able to choose a print size and have it printed and posted direct to your home. Prices include VAT and postage. For more details on the ordering process please see my ordering page.

I've also added my Wild Moments article for the Autumn 2016 John Muir Trust journal where I talk about my latest project, a book of Gaelic haiku poems and their photographs. The Little Book of Gaiku will be coming soon so watch this space!

The blog is back!

I've decided to restart the blog with lots of thoughts, ideas and photographic goodness. It was a bit of an adventure working on the new graphical styling but I much prefer the new look as it lets me showcase my images along with philosophical musings on the journey to producing each one. "Ascent" exhibition now open at the John Muir Trust Wild Space centre in Pitlochry.

My landscape exhibition, "Ascent", is now open at the Alan Reece gallery at the John Muir Trust's Wild Space visitor centre in Pitlochry. The images tell the story of sea level to summit in a mixture of colour and black and white and all are available to purchase. The exhibition runs until the end of June 2016. My article on Bla Bheinn has just been published in the April 2016 edition of TGO (The Great Outdoors). Titled "Queen of the Winged Isle", it contains some celtic mythology, routes and reminiscences as well as some of my photography.
